Minimalistic and safe: China told about the 2022 Olympics

China will make the Winter Olympics and Paralympics in Beijing a minimalistic, safe and bright event.

This was stated by the Permanent Representative of the People's Republic of China to the UN Office and other international organizations in Geneva, Chen Xu, speaking at the 47th session of the UN Human Rights Council.
He noted that the Olympic spirit goes beyond national borders and will contribute to strengthening solidarity between countries and joint struggle against global challenges.
The 2022 Winter Olympic and Paralympic Games in Beijing will be a grand event for the international community, Chen Xu stressed.
Representatives of Russia, Venezuela, Nepal and other countries at the session of the HRC welcomed the holding of the Winter Olympics and Paralympics in China in 2022. The representative of Venezuela noted that Beijing, which is the only host city of both the summer and winter Games in the world, makes a unique contribution to the international Olympic movement, RIA Novosti reports.
