Torrential rains will fall on the capital of the country, in connection with which the authorities have introduced the maximum level of response.

The Beijing administration has announced the first, that is, the highest level of disaster response due to the impending heavy rains. According to the Department of Emergency Situations, heavy rains will fall on the city from 13:00 Moscow time, which can lead to floods, landslides and disruptions in the transport system. A high-alert mode is in effect throughout the city.

Special attention is being paid to areas in the south and west of Beijing, where a red weather alert level has already been declared. Authorities have warned of the risk of flooding near large bodies of water, including the Daxing area, where one of the international airports is located. Residents are asked to refrain from traveling, and employers are advised to let employees go home if possible.

The storm is expected to affect not only Beijing, but also nearby regions, including Tianjin, Hebei, Henan and Shandong. In some areas, precipitation may exceed 200 mm. Markets, construction sites and underground retail outlets have been suspended, and evacuation of the population has begun in some areas.
