The State Committee for Development and Reform of the People's Republic of China has issued a circular prohibiting the construction of new skyscrapers with a height of more than 500 meters amid efforts to tighten the inspection of ultra-high structures.
The construction of buildings above 250 meters will also be limited. Exceptions will be made only in cases where it will be necessary.
However, to do this, it will be necessary to revise the construction plan, pay attention to fire safety and notify the Ministry of Housing, Urban and Rural Construction of the People's Republic of China
The circular notes that the new buildings should correspond to the scale of the city and not violate the fire extinguishing standards. In addition, much attention will be paid to antiseismic characteristics.
Despite the fact that local authorities are improving the management of construction facilities, there are still shortcomings that can lead to potentially dangerous situations.
The document also emphasizes that, first of all, it is important to ensure the quality of homes and the safety of people's lives and property, therefore, the management of construction facilities will be strengthened in the future.
