The eleventh Beijing International Film Festival will be held in the capital of China from August 14 to 21.Actress Gong Lee will head the jury of the festival. She played in such cult Chinese films as" Red Gaolian "(Red Sorghum, 1987)," Raise the Red Lantern "(Raise the Red Lantern, 1991) and" Goodbye, My Concubine " (Farewell My Concubine, 1993). These films received awards at the Berlin, Venice and Cannes festivals, respectively.
The Beijing International Film Festival has been held annually since 2011. The Beijing City Hall and the state-owned company China Film Group Corporation participate in its organization. In 2020, due to the coronavirus pandemic, the cinema festival was held in a simplified format without the traditional red carpet and awards.
