There may be twice as many Chinese tourists in Kamchatka in 2025

Камчатка

The authorities of the Kamchatka Territory expect a twofold increase in the tourist flow from China.

According to forecasts of the regional Ministry of Tourism, in 2025 Kamchatka may be visited by twice as many tourists from China compared to the current season. The increased interest is due to the region's participation in international exhibitions, including the Russian-Chinese Expo and China International Travel Mart. The region is actively building international cooperation within the framework of the implementation of the Regional Export Standard 2.0, where China remains a key partner.

Vladimir Rusanov, Minister of Tourism of the Kamchatka Territory, noted that direct flights to Chinese cities are a priority. According to him, reducing travel time will contribute to the growth of tourist traffic not only from China, but also from other Asian countries where airports perform a connecting function. The authorities expect this solution to expand the audience and simplify travel logistics.

According to the regional government, the launch of a new airport in the regional capital opens up opportunities to increase the number of international flights. Tourists in Kamchatka are attracted by unique natural attractions such as volcanoes, Valley of Geysers and Kuril Lake. In 2024, the region received about 400,000 people, and next year at least 450,000 tourists are expected.
