China has said it will act according to its laws in the TikTok situation

Тиктак

Beijing commented on the US statements about the possible sale of TikTok and stressed that compliance with Chinese law remains a priority.

Liu Pengyu, a spokesman for the Chinese Embassy in the United States, recalled that TikTok has been operating in the American market for many years and is popular with residents of the United States. He noted that the app has played a positive role in the U.S. economy, including in employment and consumption, and expressed hope that Washington will provide foreign companies with fair and non-discriminatory conditions.

The comment came amid the words of US President Donald Trump, who announced a group of investors interested in buying TikTok from ByteDance. In his opinion, the deal may require China's consent, and he expects a positive decision. It is expected that the names of potential buyers will be announced in the coming weeks.

The situation around TikTok has remained tense since a law came into force in the United States obliging the Chinese company to sell the application or stop its operation in the country. The Chinese side has previously called a possible forced deal economic pressure.
