The complete abolition of visas between Russia and China is not being considered, but the countries are preparing a new version of the agreement on group visa-free travel. This was announced by Nikita Kondratiev, Director of the Department of Multilateral Economic Cooperation and Special Projects at the Ministry of Economic Development of the Russian Federation, at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum.
According to him, the document provides for an increase in the length of stay of Chinese tourists and a reduction in the minimum number of people in a group from five to three. The signing of the agreement is planned to coincide with the meeting of the intergovernmental commission on tourism, which will be held on July 7-8 in China.
Kondratiev noted that the text of the agreement is at the final stage of approval and may be approved in the coming weeks. It is expected that the new conditions will increase interest in mutual tourist trips and facilitate the organization of tours between the countries.
