China has threatened the EU with retaliatory measures due to sanctions against its companies

Денюжка

Beijing reacted sharply to the inclusion of Chinese enterprises in the 17th anti-Russian sanctions package of the European Union.

China has strongly protested against the new EU sanctions, saying it is unacceptable to put pressure on its companies under the pretext of the Ukrainian conflict. Chinese Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Mao Ning stressed that Beijing considers the restrictions unjustified and violating the principles of international law.

According to the diplomat, China consistently opposes unilateral restrictions not approved by the UN Security Council. She recalled that China does not supply lethal weapons to the conflict zone and strictly controls the export of dual-use goods. Mao Ning also pointed out that China's cooperation with Russia is legitimate and should not be subject to external interference.

The representative of the Chinese Foreign Ministry demanded that the European Union stop using double standards and promised that China would take the necessary measures to protect its companies. She stressed that the Chinese side will resolutely defend its legitimate interests in the international arena.
