Russian and Chinese schoolchildren jointly honored the memory of the heroes who fell for peace by cleaning the Soviet military cemetery in Dalian.

About 120 participants from Russia and China — schoolchildren, teachers and diplomats — gathered in the Liushunkou district of Dalian to participate in the Memorial Day campaign. It took place on the territory of the largest Russian military memorial site in Asia, where more than two thousand Soviet soldiers are buried, including participants in the liberation of Northeast China and heroes of the Korean War.

As Natalia Prygkova, Consul General of the Russian Federation in Shenyang, emphasized, the purpose of the event is to preserve historical memory and pass it on to new generations. The volunteers worked at five sites of the cemetery, and after the cleaning was completed, they received memorable gifts from the Consulate General and took photos at the monument.

The Chinese and Russian representatives stressed the importance of unity and mutual understanding between the two peoples. The participants expressed hope for the development of friendly exchanges that will contribute to strengthening peace and preserving common historical memory.
