The Ministry of Commerce of the People's Republic of China said that China, as the world's second largest economy and the largest consumer market, will steadily promote a policy of high openness and domestic growth. The ministry emphasizes that China's stable development is a positive signal for the whole world, especially in the face of increasing geopolitical and economic instability. Beijing intends to demonstrate resilience and consistency despite external pressure.
Representatives of the Ministry of Commerce sharply criticized the US policy, calling the abuse of tariff measures a direct violation of the legitimate rights of Chinese companies. According to them, Washington's actions undermine the stability of the international trade order and harm not only China, but also the global economy as a whole. Such steps become especially sensitive at a time when the global economy needs to coordinate efforts rather than escalate trade conflicts.
The Chinese authorities also announced their readiness to strengthen support for export-oriented businesses facing barriers in foreign markets. For such companies, access to the Chinese domestic market will be expanded, the potential of which continues to grow. At the same time, China's foreign trade, according to the Ministry of Commerce, remains stable and is able to cope with new challenges. Earlier, the United States announced an increase in duties on Chinese goods to 125%, in response, China raised tariffs on American imports to 84%.
