The US trade policy, including the introduction of new duties, is not capable of undermining the stability of the Chinese economy, but on the contrary, emphasizes its competitive advantages. This was stated by Gao Jian, an expert at the Tsinghua University Research Institute for International Security and Strategy. In his opinion, China has enough resources and tools to meet the challenges without loss for long-term development.
The expert noted that Beijing had prepared in advance for such situations. The country has consistently implemented a development model based on domestic demand and integration with global markets. This, he said, provides China with stability even in the face of trade pressure from the United States.
The expert stressed that a stable political system, extensive production chains and scientific and technical potential allow China to maintain control over the economic course. Moreover, he believes that the actions of the Trump administration expose the internal problems of the United States and ultimately work to strengthen China's position in the global economy.
