Opening the talks with the Chinese Foreign Minister, Sergey Lavrov noted that the majority of the world's countries see the coordination of Moscow and Beijing in the international arena as a stabilizing factor. He also greeted WANG Yi and called him a dear friend.
Sergey Lavrov expressed hope that Moscow and Beijing will be able to agree on how to build bilateral relations in the context of preparations for the summits, as well as on further coordination in the United Nations, its Security Council, within the SCO, BRICS, G20, in cooperation with ASEAN and other multilateral platforms in the interests of building a more a just and democratic multipolar world order.
Wang Yi, in turn, said that relations between China and Russia under the strategic leadership of their leaders Xi Jinping and Vladimir Putin will reach a new height. He also stressed that China is ready, together with Russia, to bear a unique responsibility as permanent members of the UN Security Council, overcoming obstacles, following the right course, contributing to the multipolarity of the world and the democratization of international relations.
