Irina Tsyban, Deputy director of the Gorchakov Lyceum at MGIMO, noted that there is a high interest in the Russian education system in Hong Kong, despite widespread knowledge of English. This was found out during the MGIMO Lyceum Open Day, where everyone who was interested in getting a Russian education could come.
The Russian International School project is being implemented in China as part of the Priority 2030 program. Full-time academic intensive courses as well as distance learning are available to students. This year, Gorchakov Lyceum has organized exam points in three countries at once – Uzbekistan, Turkey and China, Tsyban noted.
In addition, there is still a high interest in learning Russian in China, and in some schools it can be taken as a foreign language. Students claim that it is easier than English, and it is comfortable to learn. In addition, there are a significant number of Russian compatriots living in Hong Kong and mainland China, for whom the Russian International School project is also of great interest.
