Oil supplies from Russia to China decreased by 12%

China's purchase of Russian oil in January 2025 decreased by 12%, according to a report from the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries. The share of oil from the Russian Federation decreased to 19% against 20% in December 2024. Malaysia was in second place in terms of shipments to China in January, accounting for 13% of the total.

Saudi Arabia took the third place in terms of supplies – almost 13% were supplied from there to China compared to the same period in 2024. China's total oil imports in January decreased by 11%, or 1.3 million barrels per day (b/d), to 10 million b/d by December 2024.

At the same time, Russia provided 33% of India's total oil imports in January, compared with 38% a month earlier. At the same time, Iraq provided 21% of supplies, Saudi Arabia - 14%. India's total oil imports in January amounted to 4.9 million bpd, which is more than 3% more than in December 2024, according to OPEC.
