According to Boris Titov, Special Representative of the President of Russia for Relations with International organizations for achieving Sustainable Development Goals, the appointment of Li Hongzhong to the post of co-chairman of the Russian-Chinese Friendship, Peace and Development Committee greatly increased the status of the organization on the part of China.
Li Hongzhong is a member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and Vice Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress. His appointment to such a responsible post demonstrates the importance for Beijing of friendly relations with Moscow in the current world order, Titov believes.
The special representative of the President of the Russian Federation also noted that a big bet is being placed on relations between Russia and China. In addition, he stressed that friendship between the two countries is of great importance in a rapidly changing world order.
