The development was presented by Norilsk Nickel together with Krastsvetmet.
The event was supported by the China Precious Metals Committee (CPMIC) with the participation of key industry players, including the Chinese Fiberglass Manufacturers Association (CFIA).
As Anna Karzhavina, Head of Product Commercialization at the Norilsk Nickel Palladium Technology Center, emphasized: "Our development marks an important step forward in the development of fiberglass production technology in China. In a market where cost reduction and efficiency gains are critical, we are confident that our technology will significantly reduce the cost of fiberglass production, opening up access to new resources for innovation and growth."
Fiberglass is a versatile material that is used in a wide variety of fields: from car and boat hulls to sports equipment, medical orthoses, and even elements of wind turbines. Fiberglass plays a special role in the green energy industry, where it is used to make tanks for liquids and solar panel frames.
After successful tests in Russia, the companies are planning tests in China.
