According to the diplomat, this goal is facing both countries and is being actively discussed. It is difficult to say when it will be possible to see the full result, but the governments of China and Russia are already working to make travel more convenient for citizens, said Zhang Wei.
Different departments of both countries are working on solving the issue, so it will take some time to simplify travel. Nevertheless, the politician expressed the hope that the deadlines would not be too long, because it was in the interests of both Russia and China.
Recall that in 2023, the bilateral intergovernmental agreement between the Russian Federation and the People's Republic of China on visa-free group tourist trips was resumed. There is also a simplified visa processing procedure for citizens of both countries and visa-free visits by Russians to Hong Kong and Macau.
