Chinese Railways has begun testing a new CR450 bullet train that can accelerate to 450 km/h. Test runs are conducted before being put into commercial operation, China Daily writes.
The train is being tested in Beijing. According to the KZhD, its operational speed will be 400 km/h, which is the absolute maximum for Chinese railway communication. Currently, the CR400 train is considered to be the fastest, which can reach speeds of up to 350 km/h.
During the tests, engineers optimize the technical performance of the train. According to China Daily, it will be considered the safest compared to existing analogues. Experts note improvements in such technical characteristics as braking distance, stability and control system.
