Chinese representatives will take part in the International Conference "Sports Events: Generating Social Effects"

On February 21-22, 2025, the RIOU campus in Sochi will host the international conference "Sports Events: Generating Social Effects", organized by the Russian International Olympic University and the Moscow State Institute of International Relations (University) The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia and the Rosa Khutor mountain resort.

Experts from Armenia, Belarus, Great Britain, Greece, China, Russia, France, Switzerland, and South Africa will take part in the conference, including Senator of the Russian Federation, three-time Olympic champion Alexander Karelin, Honorary President of the International Ice Hockey Federation Rene Fasel, representatives of federal ministries and departments, the Sochi city administration, and international experts. Olympic Committee, Russian Olympians are scholarship holders of the Russian Olympic Foundation. The conference will be held in the format of foresight sessions and panel discussions.

On the morning of the first day of the conference, honored guests will plant personalized trees in the Riviera Park (Sochi) as a sign of peace and friendship between peoples. 

Rector of RIOU, Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Professor Lev Belousov noted: "Sport is a social phenomenon that goes far beyond sports arenas. The interests of society and the authorities in understanding the need for sports are consonant, therefore, in our country special importance is attached to the creation of sports infrastructure and the holding of competitions at various levels. But it is equally important to evaluate the effectiveness of this work. We invite everyone, together with experts from 8 countries, to analyze the best Russian and international experience in territorial development through the prism of sports mega-events."
